On April 1, 1952 he was employed by Meade County RECC as "Electrification Advisor". He was an R.O.T.C. reservist and was called to duty during the Korean war. He married Virginia Catherine Sills, daughter of Joseph Clement Sills and Elizabeth Regina Mattingly, on 16 June 1951 at St. Romuald Church, Hardinsburg, Breckinridge, KY. He served in the Air Force and was sent to Germany as Motor Vehicle Squadron adjutant. He was promoted to Captain before being discharged in June 1954. He then resumed his job with Meade Co. RECC. He became General Manager of Meade Co. RECC on 1 February 1974. He retired on 31 May 1994. He died on 30 April 2017 at Hardinsburg, Breckinridge, KY, at age 87.
