     Sir Edmund Jennings I was born on 30 November 1626 at Farnham, Yorkshire, England. He married Margaret Barkham, daughter of Edward Barkham III and Frances Berney, in 1653. He was a carpenter by trade; a Member of Parliament. He was buried in 1695 at St. Clement's cemetery, Temple Bar, London, England. He died in 1695 at Ripon, Yorkshire, England.

HON. EDMUND JENNINGS, of "Ripon Hall," York Co., Va., b. 1659, in England; d. June 2, 1727, in Virginia; the son of Sir Edmund and Margaret (Burkham) Jennings, of Ripon, York Co., England, and grandson of Sir Jonathan Jennings, of Ripon, and Sir Edward Burkham, Lord Mayor of London, 1621-22. He came to Virginia at an early age, and took an active part in affairs of both Church and State; was a liberal supporter of the Established Church; served as Attorney General, 1680-92; of the King's Council, 1701-27; Secretary of State, 1704-6; Acting Governor from June, 1706, to Aug. 23, 1710; again Secretary of State, 1720-22; and later he would have again become Acting Gov'ernor, but was set aside on account of feeble health. He m. Frances Corbin, b. 1651, dau. of Hon. Henry and Alice (Eltonhead) Corbin, of "Buckingham House," Middlesex Co., Va. Gov. Edmund Jennings II was born in 1658 at Ripon, York Co., England. He married Frances Corbin, daughter of Henry Corbin and Alice Eltonhead, circa 1670. He died on 5 December 1727 at Rippon Hall, York Co., VA.

     Edmund Jennings III was born circa 1700 at MD. He married Ariana Vanderheyden in 1728. He died on 3 May 1759 at Bath, England.

     Elizabeth Jennings married Robert Porteus. She was born in 1694 at VA.

     Elizabeth Jennings was born circa 1668 at England.

     Frances Jennings Data in this file is obviously in error. Thsu Frances jennings could not have had daughters born in 1626 and 1717. I suspect that there are two different Frances Jennings and/or Grymes spouses. Her married name was Grymes. She was born in 1682 at England ? She married Charles Grymes, son of John Grymes and Alice Townley, circa 1706. She died in 1736.

     Jonathan Jennings was born circa 1655 at England.

     Name spelled Jenings in some sources. Jonathan Jennings married Elizabeth Parker. He was born circa 1600 at Yorkshire, Rippon Co., England. He died on 24 August 1649 at Yorkshire, Rippon Co., England.

     Sir Jonathan Jennings died at England. He was born circa 1628 at England.

     Margaret Jennings was born circa 1690.

     Mary Jennings was born circa 1670 at England.

     Peter Jennings was born circa 1664 at England.

     Peter I Jennings married Elizabeth Parker. He was born circa 1560.

     Peter II Jennings married Anne Baldwyn. He was born circa 1580 at York, Sildsen Co., England. He was a carpenter by trade; Barrister at Law. He died on 5 September 1651 at England.

     Priscilla Jennings was born in 1690 at VA. She married William Hill circa 1712.

     William Jennings was born circa 1657 at England.

     (?) Joan was also known as Joan. She married William Heydon Esq., son of John Heydon and Johanna (?).

     Ann Johnson was born after 1675.

     Catherine Johnson was born after 1675 at Rappahannock Co., VA.

     Her married name was BOURNE. Elizabeth Johnson was born in 1676 at Rappahannock Co., VA. She married John BOURNE II, son of Andrew BOURNE and Christian (?), circa 1705 at Essex Co, VA. She died in 1760 at Fredricksburg, Essex Co., VA.

     Henry Johnson Essex Co , Deed Book 11, pg. 25, Deed of Gift, 25 Jul 1695. Henry Johnson is intended to marry "gives his four daus, all under 21, personal property, Elizabeth the eldest, Sarah the second, Catherine the third, Ann the fourth and youngest dau."

Will: personal estate to be divided among four children: Richard Sarah
Catherine and Anne, daughter Elizabeth "having had her part"."to be delivered
to heirs when at age or marriage". Witnesses included James Harrison and Peter
Boume.

Henry Johnson was doubtless one of the individuals brought over by Robert Taliaferro, see Andrew Bourne notes. He and his son Richard had many associations with the Taliaferro family as Essex and Spotsylvania records indicated.
He was born circa 1648 at England. He married Mary Taliaferro, daughter of Robert Taliaferro and Katherine aka Sarah Grymes Dedman, circa 1675 at Essex Co., VA. He married Christian (?) circa 1695 at Essec Co., VA. He left a will on 30 October 1702; left to son Richard 400 acres. He died on 10 June 1703 at Richmond, Essex Co., VA; proved in Will. He was buried on 12 June 1703 at St Mary's Parish, Essex Co., VA.

     Laura Lee Johnson married Charles William Kelley III, son of Charles William Kelley JR. and Brenda Lee Sills. Her married name was KELLEY. She and Charles William Kelley III were divorced in 2008 at Cincinnati, OH.

     Her married name was McGary. Louise Johnson married James Earnest McGary, son of Joseph Francis McGary and Mary Ellen (Nellie) Rhodes. She was born on 24 December 1904 at New Jersey, USA. She died on 5 February 1978 at Breckinridge, KY, USA, at age 73.

     Rebecca Johnson was also known as Rebecka Johnson. As of 31 October 1658,her married name was AVIS. She married Robert AVIS, son of Robert AVIS and Elizabeth (?), on 31 October 1658 at St James Parish, Clerkenwell, England.
