     Barnett MATTINGLY A mortgage between himself and his brother, James Barton, was recorded July 16, 1804. Another mortgage between Barnett and James Barton was recorded on 8-10-1827. When this same brother died, Barnett was named "surety" for his nephew who administered the estate. Moved to Grayson County around 1816/17. The 1800 and 1810 census both show him named as Barnard. During 1810 he had three males between the ages of 16 through 25 in the home and one male age 10 through 15; and two females aged 16 through 25, two 10 through 15, and one under age 10. The 1820 census shows one male under the age of 10; one between 18 and 26; one between 26 and 45; and himself, over 45.
